Canned Baked Beans and Couscous

When I buy my groceries, I'm always drawn into canned food racks. I can find any kind of food that have been processed there. It's like heaven! Well, some people may not agree on this. I know, it's not a healthy habit. And honestly, fresh food is always the best. But, I always think that keep some preserved or processed food will come handy sometimes. We never know when we face an urgent situation, right? :)  That's why I always have canned food at home, such as: tuna, corned beef, fruits, cooked fish, corn and beans.

I have my canned baked beans for some time in the pantry. So, this time I'm gonna use it. I just saw some Moroccan culinary on TV, so I decided to cook some Moroccan food my style. ;)
Moroccan food is associated with couscous. Since I have it also in the stack, it's not gonna be a problem.

Here the ingredients:
1 can of baked beans
4 scoopsof  couscous
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves of garlic, chopped
black pepper powder, to taste
2 tsp paprika powder
cumin powder, to taste
salt, to taste
virgin olive oil
few slices of cheese, chopped

Method:
Cook the couscous first. Put the couscous in a pan with 1 cup of water or more, if you want the couscous to be more fluffy and tender. Use the for to breakdown the couscous. Then, add a few drizzle of virgin olive oil. Let it rest.

Sautee chopped onion and garlic in the pan, using few tsp of olive oil, until it's golden brown. Add baked beans, paprika powder, cumin powder, black pepper and salt. Stir slowly until all incorporated. Don't forget to taste. Remove from the heat.

Place couscous in plate and pour over the baked beans, topped with cheese. It's ready to serve!

for 3-4 servings.
